Murray's third novel. At a Long Island summer resort a self-proclaimed prophet of a new religion takes it upon himself to act as avenging angel, seeing to it that the worst of cultural and commercial frauds get their come-uppance. Murray sang professionally in Italy, and was a reporter for the Rome bureau of Time-Life International before working for the Italian film industy, eventually ending up on the editorial staff of The New Yorker. Dust jacket w/moderate edgewear, small puncture to right edge of rear panel, chipping/short tears along top edge, 1/2" tear to top edge of rear panel, 1/2" tear to top right of front panel, slight sun-darkening to spine, rubbing, impressions.
